Vitacost.com offers a comprehensive benefits package to its Team Vitacost Associates. This package helps our VTeam stay healthy, meet financial goals and balance the demands of work and personal life.
Health & Wellness
Full-Time Associates, their families and/or their domestic partners are eligible for the following:
  • Medical
    Our AETNA Point of Service (POS) health plan has an extensive network of doctors and specialists to choose from and includes prescription drug coverage, and fitness and weight-loss reward programs. Our plan covers our Associates Individual Premium at 80%.
  • Dental
    Our Guardian premier Dental Plan provides for quality care and allows VTeam Members to seek care from in-network specialty dentists at fixed co-payments. The plan provides savings from 20% to 60% off regular dental procedures. We pay 100% of our Associates Individual Dental Premium Option #1.
  • Vision Plan
    Our CompBenefits premier Vision Plan provides for quality care and allows VTeam Members to seek care from in-network and out-of-network specialty eye care professionals. The Vision Plan provides eye health examinations, frames, eyeglass lenses, contact lenses, and discounts on LASIK surgeries. We pay 100% of our Associates Individual Vision Premium.
Family Income Protection
Full-Time Associates are eligible for the following:
  • Basic Life Insurance
    Vitacost.com provides one times annual salary for our Full-Time Associates. All Associates can purchase additional Life Insurance for themselves and their families.
  • Basic Accidental & Dismemberment (AD&D) Insurance
    Vitacost.com provides one times annual salary.
  • Long Term / Short Term Disability
    Associates are eligible to purchase long term and short term disability through The Hartford. Coverage is paid for by the associate.
Preparing for Retirement
  • The Principal Financial Group
    All Associates at least 18 years old, with six (6) months of service are eligible to participate in the Principal 401(k) plan. Vitacost.com matches 100% of the first 3% Associates contribute to the plan, and then 50% for the next 2%, to a maximum of 4.5%. Associates are immediately vested in their own and Vitacost.com's matching contribution.

  • Paid Time Off
    Rather than the traditional vacation and sick-leave programs many employers utilize, Vitacost.com has developed a paid time-off (PTO) program. The company believes that its Associates are the key to making a great company. While work makes up a large portion of an Associate's life, we believe that a balance between work and play is essential in maintaining quality performance and the fun atmosphere in which we work. To help foster this idea, the company has designed a vacation and sick-leave policy that incorporates both policies into one: a personal time off (PTO) plan. This plan is available to all Full-Time Associates. An individual must be employed for three consecutive months to be eligible for PTO. All PTO begins and renews on the Associate's anniversary date (original date of hire). Upon completion of three consecutive months, an Associate's accrual of PTO time is retroactive to the first full day of employment. Associates are encouraged to take PTO days within the year they are earned. All Full-Time Associates are allotted a specific number of PTO hours.
  • Holidays
    Vitacost.com pays Associates for 7 holidays each year. While the schedule varies from year to year, paid holidays include: New Years Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, Day after Thanksgiving, and Christmas Day.
  • Jury Duty
    VTeam Members selected for jury duty will be given time off from work to fulfill their civic obligation. During the period of jury service, Vitacost.com will pay the difference between the VTeam Member's normal earnings and any amount received for jury service.
  • Bereavement Leave
    In the event of death of an immediate family member, Vitacost.com will provide up to three days off with pay to attend the funeral and take care of personal affairs. Family members considered by Vitacost.com to be immediate family are spouse, parents (including foster parents or stepparents), domestic partner (and their families as included in this list), foster children, aunt, uncle, parents-in-law, children, brother, sister, brother-in-law, sister-in-law, grandparents and grandchildren.

  • Associate Incentives
    One of the great benefits Vitacost.com offers to its VTeam Members is the opportunity to receive a monthly stipend to purchase our vitamin/supplement brand products. The amount of the stipend depends on length of service and position.

    All associates are eligible for additional discounts on all products we sell.
